Sally Aaron
First Fandom
Sally became a Star Trek fan when the original series was first broadcast in September 1966, when she was 12.  Her favorite episodes are "Amok Time," "The Trouble with Tribbles," "A Piece of the Action" and "City on the Edge of Forever," and she served as Vice-President of the United Federation of Trekkers in Columbia, South Carolina from 1980 to 1988.  Sally tries to live the basic tenets of Trek philosophy and attends as many Trek cons as come through Columbia.  She has been a fan of NexTrek since its first season and enjoys Deep Space Nine as well.  Although Sally's activity in fandom is limited, her long-time love for the series is tremendous.

Dafydd ab Hugh
Deep Space Nine: The Verdict
Dafydd (pronounced DAH-veth) is the author of the infamous Deep Space Nine book Fallen Heroes, "the one where everyone dies."  He also wrote the Next Generation novel Balance of Power, where Wesley Crusher counterfeits gold-pressed latinum (due out in January 1995).  In addition to these Star Trek books, the indefatiguable ab Hugh also wrote the Arthur War Lord saga, Arthur War Lord and Far Beyond the Wave, from Avon, and the Jiana novels Heroing and Warriorwards from Baen Books.  In between these magnificent epics, the lecher of Hollywood penned "The Coon Rolled Down and Ruptured his Larinks, a Squeezed Novel by Mr. Skunk," (Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, August 1990; Year's Best Science Fiction, Eighth Annual Collection, edited by Gardner Dozois; Nebula Awards 26, edited by James Morrow).  "Coon" was nominated for both the Hugo and Nebula Awards, narrowly losing because of anti-doggie-sex bigotry.  He insists the story is "autobiographical, but not literal."

Ron Nastrum
Star Trek Conventions:  The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
Ron is the President of Molten Productions, Inc., the parent company of Dixie-Trek.  Dixie-Trek is one of Atlanta's oldest running science fiction/media conventions and Ron has been with it from the start.  It all began in 1980 at the Emory University Student Center, as it was then called Emory Trek, with the Atlanta Star Trek Society organizing a mini-con.  With nothing more than a few films and a handful of dealers, it was nonetheless a success.  With a year off and a change of location, the convention became known as Dixie-Trek.  As the years progressed, Ron, along with cofounders Owen Ogletree and Bill Smith, helped shape the look and feel of the convention which covered a wide range of interests for fans of all ages.  Some of the guests that have attended Dixie-Trek over the last 14 years have been most of the cast from both the original Star Trek series as well as The Next Generation, Star Wars' Anthony Daniels, Robert Englund, David Hedison, Gary Conway, Peter Davidson, Jon Pertwee and, most recently, Christopher Reeve, just to name a few.  Fans have a lot to look forward to in 1995 from Molten Productions:  in September 1995, Molten Productions will present the "Official 30th Anniversay Cast Reunion of Lost in Space."  The reunion is tentatively scheduled to take place at the Fox Theatre here in Atlanta... quite a long way from the Emory Student Center!
